Re-release of Classic Avalon With New Twists!

"Resistance: Avalon" has long held a special place in my heart for its interesting balance of elements for social deduction. Percival who knows the two main figures of Merlin and Morgana but doesn't know which, and Merlin who knows all the baddies but cannot let himself be found out for fear of losing the whole game to the assassin. In this new version of the game, the Director's Cut is clearly the version to play (so your first job is working out what is and isn't part of the Director's Cut, but it's worth it). Now there are equal numbers of goodies and baddies. I love the twist of the magic token. Sure it stops baddies from failing missions, but it also makes it harder to be sure who's evil, especially since Morgana can ignore it and if good hearted Youth is given magic he fails the mission against his will! Perhaps a little harder to get your head around if you haven't played Avalon first? But really rewarding. A lot of depth which I'm hoping to explore in future games and all sorts of alternative roles. I expect to get a lot of use out of this.

OVERVIEW

This is an entirely new game in the Avalon universe for 4-10 players.

In Quest, all will show their true colours as Good and Evil struggle for the future of civilization. Hidden amongst King Arthur’s loyal servants are Mordred’s unscrupulous minions. These forces of Evil are few in number, but if they go unknown, they can sabotage Arthur’s great quests.

Players are secretly dealt roles that determine if their allegiance is to Good or to Evil. Then, players debate, reason, and lie as they decide who to send on Quests—knowing that if just one minion of Mordred joins, the Quest could fail. Quest includes 25 different characters and many different ways to play the base game.

Quest also includes the Director's Cut, a personal recommendation from the designer about the preferred way to play Quest.
