Great fun and cute!
Love playing this game! It's variation on rules (solo, regular and family) are all great as well as all of the components are high quality. Doesn't take too long to learn or to play but definitely fun to play multiple times.

When I first unpacked Isle of Cats I was concerned about the different aspects and expected it to be a bit awkward. The cat shapes that you place on your boat are absolutely gorgeous. But thers are also cards to be drafted and fish (the game's equivalent of money) to be used in conjunction with baskets to rescue cats from the island. But actually this all comes together to produce a really wonderful game that you'll want to play again and again. The components are stunning, but also you'll find yourself trying again and again to improve your strategy. Works just as well with 2 or 3 players. It also has a pretty fantastic solo game option. (I haven't tried with 4 players yet.) The flow of the gameplay keeps players on their toes. So much fun!
A light game, easily learned, though it takes a while to work out which cards are really useful. Good that you can't often tell who is winning until the scores are worked out.
As soneone who doesn't like games with a lot of bits, my one negative in this game would be a slight awkwardness when playing. Still once you get started it's very easy to get immersed and it certainly doesn't hurt that the game is absolutely beautiful. There's a level of joy just in placing cats (contorted in wonderful polyomino shapes) onto your board. Not quite as elegant as my very favourite games, but one hell of a lot of fun and with a surprising level of complexity in the gameplay.
A lovely looking board game with high quality components. Gameplay is easy to learn but there is quite a bit of strategy to this game as well. Importantly for me it has a really good solo mode, solo plays a bit differently to multiplayer but is equally as engaging and fun! Thirsty Meeple were competitive on price and delivered on time and packed the game well.

The Isle of Cats is a competitive, medium-weight, card-drafting, polyomino cat-placement board game for 1-4 players (6 with expansions).
You are citizens of Squalls End on a rescue mission to The Isle of Cats and must rescue as many cats as possible before the evil Lord Vesh arrives. Each cat is represented by a unique tile and belongs to a family, you must find a way to make them all fit on your boat while keeping families together.
You will also need to manage resources as you:
Each lesson you collect will give you another personal way of scoring points, and there are 38 unique lessons available.
Complete lessons, fill your boat, and keep cat families together to score points, the winner will be the player with the most points after five rounds.
