The Quacks of Quedlinburg

This was a gift for my 11 year old and he loves it, but it turns out I love it even more! It is highly original, with parallel play, luck, strategy... I find all the elements are just perfectly balanced. We've played it many many times and still play it regularly 6 months later. Definitely a fantastic game that I am so happy I picked up. Buy it, you won't regret it!

This games involves a bit of luck and a willingness to to take a gamble to be the best at making potions.

We played it once at the Bath cafe (the rules were really well explained) and it didn’t take too long to get the hang of it. It is not as complicated as all the pieces make it look at first sight. It took us about an hour to play but we were probably a bit slow to set up and start!

We all enjoyed it (adults and teens) so bought it on the way out and are looking forward to playing again at home.

This game is hilariously lighthearted - it has just the right balance of randomness and tactical elements that any type of player would enjoy it. There is also a set number of rounds so you know the game won’t go on endlessly. It is also really replayable and already comes with good options to change up components for a fresh challenge. I loved this game so much, and think anyone would benefit from having this for their table.

My husband and I played this game at Thirsty Meeples Oxford and loved it! We didn't think we would initially, but we are hooked and it's on our Christmas list. It pushes you to your addictive gambling side - will you keep pushing your luck or will you play it safe? It sounds easier than it is ....

Only played this as a 2 player so far and we LOVE IT. I went to the Bath store looking for a gift for my husband and after giving examples of our favorite games, this was suggested. Amazing game and so varied. The game has several different main cards to play with and when you've worked through them all, there's a different version on the back. We haven't got to that part yet but are sure it'll be as good. A fantastic game for 2 players and we're looking forward to playing this with extra people. Takes less than an hour to play and is different each time. Even if it seems you're clearly winning/losing, the outcome can change even on the last round. Can't rate this game highly enough. They also do an expansion so guess what he's getting for Christmas!!!
