A challenging and thoroughly enjoyable romp through the world of Harry Potter. Lots of replay value due to different character abilities and the card drafting mechanics. Great for fans and non fans alike - it’s one of the most played games in our collection!
For a deck building game its a bit disappointing to start afresh each round. Other than that it is a great co-op game, simpler than others I have played and really good if time is a bit limited and you just want one round.
Great game, starts off easy so you can get used to the mechanics and builds in difficultly as you progress through the years.
Great theme and true to the swries. A joy to play and a game that often sees the table. Perfect for Potterheads and muggles alike!
This was our first deck-building game and was a great introduction to the genre. As experienced board game players the game was a bit easy in the early levels, but soon got tricky and involved enough to keep us playing through the later levels, and replaying with different combinations of characters to try out different strategies. I’d suggest that a familiarity with and fondness for the Harry Potter books (and/or films) is pretty vital for fully enjoying this game - I can’t imagine it would make much sense without any knowledge of the theme.
After several weeks of slightly obsessive playing of this game, we’re looking forward to getting hold of the Monsters expansion and doing it all over again!

The forces of evil are threatening to overrun Hogwarts castle in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle, a cooperative deck-building game, and it's up to four students to ensure the safety of the school by defeating villains and consolidating their defenses. In the game, players take on the role of a Hogwarts student: Harry, Ron, Hermione or Neville, each with their own personal deck of cards that's used to acquire resources.
By gaining influence, players add more cards to their deck in the form of iconic characters, spells, and magical items. Other cards allow them to regain health or fight against villains, keeping them from gaining power. The villains set back players with their attacks and Dark Arts. Only by working together will players be able to defeat all of the villains, securing the castle from the forces of evil.
