Excellent starting point for the Final Girl system

Happy Trails Horror is often billed as the first 'Feature Film' that Final Girl players should try - primarily because it doesn't add any additional setup or rules to the main game, and so is a good starting point for those just getting into the game. I completely agree with this, but it also forms the reason that I would give this 4 stars: compared to some of the other feature films that really lean into their inspirations with additional rules and components, this can feel a little basic. That is not to say it is bad or lacking in fun by any means - especially as you can use this box's killer or location in combination with any of the other expansions - but I think that if you ONLY buy this and the core box, you might miss out on seeing where this game really shines, in some of the really original thematic mechanics that other locations and killers introduce.

All that being said, it does show off the base game system incredibly well, which is very thematic on its own - I giggled when I saw my setup for campers playing Hide and Seek included two up at Makeout Point. If you have an interest in Final Girl, this pack is a great starting point, but I would recommend picking up one of the others as well. If you already have Final Girl and other packs, this is definitely still worth picking up. It just might not shine as bright as the other films I have played.

OVERVIEW

Final Girl Feature Film Box

Summer camp turns deadly in The Happy Trails Horror. Produced by Evan Derrick, this Feature Film box stars Hans - The Butcher, who murders and feasts on unsuspecting campers. When an unlikely heroine emerges, will it be enough to stop the killing? Don't miss this engrossing film with gorgeous scenes by Director of Photography, Tyler Johnson.

The Core Box, when combined with one of the Feature Film Boxes, has everything you need to play the game. Each Feature Film Box features a unique Killer and and iconic Location, and the more Feature Films you have, the more killer/location combinations you can experience!

Each Feature Film Box is double-sided, with amazingly illustrated covers on the front AND back. Not only that, but the magnetically attached box covers are removable, with the reverse of each functioning as the Killer and Location boards respectively.
