Fighters of the Pacific
Bomb and torpedo enemy carriers while dodging their fighters.
Relive the fury of air and sea combat over the Pacific during the Second World War. Fighters of the Pacific is a fast-paced, streamlined tactical wargame in which you command squadrons of fighters, dive bombers and torpedo aircraft, directing every plane individually as you attack the enemy's carriers and island bases. No dice and no rulers – just dozens of planes and ships on a huge modular hex board.
Move each aircraft one at a time across the grid. Manoeuvre to get an enemy plane in your sights and it must try to dodge or take damage. Torpedo bombers and dive bombers can strike at ships and ground installations, while keeping your formation together helps you hold the initiative and dominate your opponent. Every aircraft has its own speed, armour and special abilities, and each token is illustrated as closely as possible to its historical model.
The core game represents the forces of four real aircraft carriers fighting in 1942, at a ratio of one token to three aircraft, with the Japanese 1st Carrier Division facing the US Navy's Pacific carriers. Ten scenarios are included, all playable solo, and the Battle of Midway and Battle of the Coral Sea expansions add full historical campaigns.
