THERE IS MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WITH MY GAME (Missing pieces, Misprint, Faulty Part etc) - what do I do?

If you have purchased a new product which has faulty or missing items, the fastest way for you to get a missing component is to be in direct contact with the original publisher. Most publishers have their own service that provide players with missing components.

 

The following is a list of the more prominent publishers preferred methods of dealing with missing components. If the publisher of your game is not listed, or if you have no response from the listed publisher, then please contact us so that we can assist.

GIFT CARDS

How are gift cards issued?

Gift Cards can be emailed or sent as a physical card. Choose which version you wish to purchase in our webstore. Both versions can be used for purchases in our café as well as online through our webstore.

 

Gift cards issued via email include the option to enable Apple Wallet Passes which will allow our gift cards to be used on iOS devices in Apple Wallet. With Passes, customers can check a gift card's balance and redeem a gift card in-store.

 

Can a gift card be used more than once?

Yes, provided there is still a balance remaining on the card.

 

Can more than one gift card be used towards a purchase?

Yes. A customer can redeem another gift card during checkout.

 

How do customers check their balance?

If a gift card is associated with a customer account, then the customer can check the balance by using the link provided in the gift card email. For customers without accounts, please contact us via email and we will confirm it for you.

 

Can gift cards be reloaded?

No, you can't reload a gift card.

 

Can a gift card be used to buy a gift card?

No, you can't use a gift card to buy another gift card.

HOW DO I GET A PRICE MATCH?

Please read the conditions below and email hello@thirstymeeples.co.uk with a link to the competitor's website address ready so our sales person can compare the match. If successful then we will confirm arrangements for placing the order.

 

Note:

• The website that the match is to be made against must have the goods in stock.

The goods must be identical in every way.

The quoted price of the competitor must include shipping and tax charges.

We are unable to match against websites outside of the UK, sites selling bankrupt stock or any 3rd party auction site such as Amazon or eBay.

The price match offer is not a binding contract until payment has been completed, and Thirsty Meeples reserve the right to refuse price matching at our discretion.

We cannot price match sale items.

HOW DO I MAKE A PURCHASE ON YOUR WEBSITE?

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

 

We accept credit/debit card payment or payments by PayPal.

 

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

HOW DOES YOUR BOOKING DEPOSIT WORK?

For groups of 5 or more we require a deposit of £6.00 per person to confirm your booking. The deposit will be offset against your final table bill for each person attending.

 

For a booking of 5 or more people to be confirmed the deposit must be paid in advance. Payments can be taken in person at the café or remotely over the telephone. Until the deposit is made your booking cannot be confirmed.

 

If you need to subsequently increase your group size please call us to discuss. In the event that you need to cancel your booking entirely or reduce the size of your group please telephone us as soon as possible to confirm this. Deposits will be forfeit in absence of 24 hour notification of a change in group size or cancellation.

CAN I DEMO MY NEW GAME IN YOUR CAFÉ / ADD A COPY TO YOUR LIBRARY?

We only allow our Game Gurus to teach games at Thirsty Meeples. If you have a game that you are looking for feedback on then please contact the organisers of the monthly Playtest group that meets at the café. They will be able to discuss with you how you can bring along your game for feedback.

 

If you have published a game and it's not currently one we have in our games library or for sale in our store please send us details on it, including prices, to hello@thirstymeeples.co.uk. As a team we will review your game and let you know whether it suitable for our game library and retail.

MY GAME IS ON KICKSTARTER, CAN YOU PROMOTE IT FOR ME?

We don't plug Kickstarters unless they are run by someone we know very well. Please don’t email us asking Thirsty Meeples to promote your crowdfunding project unless you fall in that category. If we don’t know you, we don’t know if we can trust you to actually deliver on what you’re promising, so it would be irresponsible of us to tell people to give you money.

ARE YOU THE FUNKSTERS THAT RUN THE BOARD GAME LIBRARY AT THE UK GAMES EXPO EACH YEAR?

Yep that's us. This year (2018) we took over 1,400 games and we want to keep growing the availability of titles. We love being a part of the Games Expo and we are very grateful for all the fantastic feedback we receive. We provide the library free of charge, so please do help to support us through visiting our shop at the Expo, buying from our webstore or visiting our café. It is very appreciated.

 

We are sorry but we can't return library card deposits after the event. You must return your library card before we close down on the Sunday afternoon.
