An engaging and fun narrative

Overall a fun collaborative experience. The only complaint is that some of the cases require some jumping to conclusions and/or lateral thinking that is not quite in the spirit of a puzzle. Requires a serious attention to detail and much note taking, which may not be ideal for all groups.

Wonderful, more than a board game.

The Packaging and components in this are stunning, everything from the 'drawer' box to the newspapers and london directory, really beautifully put together.

Luckily the game itself doesn't let the components down, its really enthralling and if you let yourself get 'carried away' it can give you some enjoyable evenings (best with 1 or 2 other people to go through the cases).

Also with 10 cases, it will be a long time before you get through this all!

Great quality

Pleased to have got this, which I've been thinking about for a while.

Very high production value, feels like real quality.

The mystery (done 1 of 10 so far) was diverting, immersive and fun.

Would be 5 stars if the explanation from Holmes at the end had been slightly more comprehensive, this felt rushed and we had a few remaining questions (for the record, we did get the right killer!).

Loved it.

Was recommended to get this by a friend - they said I would enjoy it and they were right! If you like murder mysteries and Sherlock Holmes in particular, this is the game for you - especially if you’re not fussed about winning but just enjoy playing.

Have you ever had the desire to walk the streets of Victorian London with Sherlock Holmes in search of Professor Moriarty? To search the docks for the giant rat of Sumatra? To walk up Baker Street as the fog is rolling in and hear Holmes cry out, "Come, Watson, come! The game is afoot!"? Now you can! You can enter the opium den beneath the Bar of Gold, but beware, that may be Colonel Sebastian Moran lurking around the corner. You can capture the mystery and excitement of Holmes' London in this challenging and informative game. You, the player, will match your deductive abilities against your opponents and the master sleuth himself, Sherlock Holmes.

In Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, you are presented with a mystery to solve, and it is then up to you to trace the threads of evidence through the byways and mansions of nineteenth century London. You will interview suspects, search the newspapers for clues, and put together the facts to reach a solution.

Why were two lions murdered in Hyde Park? Who is responsible for the missing paintings from the National Gallery? Who murdered Oswald Mason and why? These are just a few of the cases that will challenge your ingenuity and deductive abilities.

This is not a board game: No dice, no luck, but a challenge to your mental ability. The game has been thoroughly researched for Holmesian and Victorian accuracy so as to capture a feeling of that bygone era.
