Amazing!

Really wonderful worker placement game! Really like the place one, pick one up mechanism and playing two actions from that. Super fun!

Brilliant Game

Great board game! If you like worker placement BG as a theme, you will love this: the mechanic that you place one and pull another is a genious idea. And beyond that the design is solid.

Top quality game and really fun

We really enjoy this game. The artwork is amazing, and the quality of the meeples and metal coins give is a really classy feel when playing.

The rhythm of the game is good in that you can't just go raid turn after turn so everyone feel like they're on a level playing field to make their gains and try implement their own game plan. There is the possibility to block in some cases, but plenty of other options remain.

It's a little complicated to explain if you're playing in group where nobody has played it before, but you pick it up as you go really easily. Setup takes about 10 minutes. I've only played in a group of four, but I imagine the game builds a bit more speed with fewer people.

Overall, it's a great game with lots of levels for enjoyment and participation. Looking forward to trying out some of the expansion boxes!

Fantastic for Barbarians!

Great game with medium strategy but unpredictable game play. Artwork and aesthetics are great, and a game we play over and over. Lots of oportunity to expand too!

Fantastic game

We really like Shem Phillips/Garphill Games and this is no exception - great components, great mechanics, cool artwork and an all round really good game.

Raiders of the North Sea is set in the central years of the Viking Age. As Viking warriors, players seek to impress the Chieftain by raiding unsuspecting settlements. Players will need to assemble a crew, collect provisions and journey north to plunder gold, iron and livestock. There is glory to be found in battle, even at the hands of the Valkyrie. So gather your warriors, it’s raiding season!

Aim of the Game

The aim of Raiders of the North Sea is to impress the Chieftain by having the most Victory Points (VP) at the game’s end. Victory Points are gained primarily by raiding Settlements, taking Plunder and making Offerings to the Chieftain. How players use their Plunder is also vital to their success. The game ends when either only 1 Fortress raid remains, all Valkyrie are removed, or all Offerings have been made.
