Fantastic!

As a long-standing fan of Unmatched, I was intrigued by how a co-op version would work and the answer is - brilliantly.

A great game, beautiful minis (I want to put Mothman on a plinth) , excellent well balanced and tense gameplay. Good!

If you can, it's worth getting the first edition with the little minis instead of doom tokens because covering a bridge in little moths is very evocative

Great Co-op

Very enjoyable co-op version of the Unmatched system. Has great components and is good fun to play. Pure solo - one hero - is not too challenging but a great way to learn. Two heroes spices things up.

Excellent, but could have done with one more villain

Unmatched has been one of my favourite head to head games for a while, but as someone who plays a lot of games solo I've been after a way to play all my unmatched characters in a solo/co-op mode. Tales to Amaze offers that with two main villains you can fight against who are bolstered by a variety of minions. The production is as excellent as always and the giant Mothman and UFO figures really stand out on the table. The new player characters are all good too, although not as iconic as some characters in previous sets. My only really gripes are the games can be quite swingy depending on who acts first on the initiative track and what cards the villains draw, and I also would have liked to see one more villain to round out the set as I can see it getting repetitive after a while, even with the modifier cards and different minions.
