Classic Fluxx Fun

Fluxx, as a game, is always a blast. The Doctor Who theming is well executed, with the goals cards offering a far deal of references to the post 2005 series, and a few references to the classic series as well. Best played with a small group who aren't feeling ultra competitive, and are down to play a game where anyone could win at any moment.

Fun to play, not so much fun to win

Doctor Who Fluxx is fun because it take the source material and mixes your favourite elements of it with a game that really make no sense whatsoever.

The game play is fun, you try to gather your companions, doctors or other bits whilst avoiding the Daleks, Cybermen and Weeping Angel's.

And you try to manipulate things so that you can play your cards to make the winning conditions so.ethi g you can achieve.

And this is all fun.

But then someone draws a card that matches an existing set of keepers that they have and the game is over.

I've played this about half a dozen times with my kids, once was a total disaster and the others were a lot of fun - until the end.

Every time the end is disappointing.

But the game itself is good.

Ahhhnh!!!!

Fluxx is a card game in which the cards themselves determine the current rules of the game. By playing cards, you change numerous aspects of the game: how to draw cards, how to play cards, and even how to win.

At the start of the game, each player holds three cards and on a turn a player draws one card, then plays one card. By playing cards, you can put new rules into play that change numerous aspects of the game: how many cards to draw or play, how many cards you can hold in hand or keep on the table in front of you, and (most importantly) how to win the game.

Doctor Who Fluxx takes the basic gameplay of Fluxx and merges it with multiple regenerations of the Doctor, various companions, Gallifreyan technology, K-9, Cybermen, Daleks, Weeping Angels, and the Master.
