Fun combination of Dixit + Cluedo

Mysterium is a pretty fun puzzle game where you have to work out abstract clues from the voiceless ghost player. I have found playing as the ghost is the most enjoyable aspect of this game, however as only one person is this character you don't get to play as it very often. The other players have to work together to interpret abstract art cards to figure out 3 different elements which can lead to some heated discussions. Not too long to play, depending on if your ghost gives good clues. All in all it is a pretty fun game.

A unique and versatile game

This is a great board game to own, not only is it visually stunning, but has great replay-ability and it works well for small groups as well as parties. I would recommend around 4-5 players for the best experience. Because the “ghost player” isn’t allowed to talk I’ve found the game isn’t as fun with 2 players.

Cluedo but much harder (and more entertaining)

Mysterium is a great cooperative mystery game that encourages you to think outside the box in working out the clues received from the ghost.
It helps that the artwork is beautiful!

Cluedo + Dixit = Mysterium

It's a cross between Cluedo and Dixit. If you liked the imaginative aspect Dixit but want more structure and storytelling (the Cluedo part) then you'll enjoy Mysterium. This works both ways - on the one hand it doesn't have the pick up and play quality of Dixit or Cluedo (and so is less suitable for younger audiences), but, if you take the time to learn the rules the greater complexity arguably gives more satisfaction than both - although the murder mystery structure does mean your imagination is more hemmed in than with Dixit. I'd suggest that you start with Dixit first and if you like that, get this. The other thing to note is that it's co-operative family game, not a gotcha type competitive game.
