Excellent book

This review is my perspective without having been able to actually run the game yet, for full disclosure. The core book for Soulbound is a really great book, it's really nicely laid out, full of lore and fills in a lot of the gaps in the setting making it feel more like a real place while keeping the bombastic tone of Age of Sigmar. The artwork and graphic design is just lovely.

The rules section is well laid out and the rules are relatively simple, definitely seem much less crunchy than something like WFRP (obviously tastes vary here, I don't mind either approach, but simpler is definitely quicker to learn and get on the table for less experienced GMs and players like me and my group). There are also plenty of enemies, items, classes etc just in this book, meaning this would be all you need to keep you going for a while, but the rest of the sourcebooks are very tempting now. Eyeing up Shadows in the Mist for sure...

A great book with a ton of content.

The rulebook for Soulbound is great. It's massive and filled with a tonne of lore for the setting, a well laid out rules section, plenty of starting archetypes to choose from for your characters, and all the items, skills, and spell tables you'd expect from an RPG rulebook, plus a decent bestiary. Everything is fantastically written and the artwork is phenomenal. Perhaps most important of all, the rules system itself is fairly straightforward and it's easy to get started fairly quickly.

Finally, a small shoutout to the staff at the Thirsty Meeples Café, who are always friendly, professional, and a pleasure to deal with.
