All online orders are picked from our separate warehouse. We always ensure that your games are well packed before leaving. Wherever possible we'll re-use a cardboard box that we received games in from one of our suppliers. We figure it's better that way for our planet. But we do also use new boxes and wraps. If you have a strong preference either way please let us know in your Order Comments.
Our warehouse operates Monday to Friday, except bank holidays. Orders placed on a working day before 1:30pm will be packed and despatched that same day. All order are sent tracked via the Royal Mail. You will be able to follow your order from our warehouse to your delivery destination once your order has been fulfilled.
Postage is worked out by spend and delivery type. These options are listed below. There is also the option to collect your online order at our café, no delivery charge is made.
Important note on shipping times: none of the below shipping times are guaranteed. From time to time unforeseen problems that are outside of our control can lead to postal delays. We do not accept responsibility for this these and will not refund shipping fees in these circumstance. If it is imperative that your order must reach reach you the next working day please contact us so that we can quote for a guaranteed next day postal service.
FREE SHIPPING: ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 48 - UNITED KINGDOM
Spend over £50 and automatically receive free Royal Mail Tracked 48 UK shipping. You will have the option to upgrade your shipping method should you need a speedier service.
EXPRESS SHIPPING: ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 24 - UNITED KINGDOM
This is a tracked service so you can check your delivery is on the way. Your order should arrive the next working day from day of despatch. Deliveries are made on Saturdays. You will be sent an email or SMS message to confirm delivery. We charge a flat-rate of £5 for Tracked 24 orders, meaning you can order multiple items with no increase in shipping costs.
STANDARD SHIPPING: ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 48 - UNITED KINGDOM
This is a tracked service so you can check your delivery is on the way. Your order should arrive 2 working days from day of despatch. Deliveries are made on Saturdays. You will be sent an email or SMS message to confirm delivery. We charge a flat-rate of £4.00 for Tracked 48 orders, meaning you can order multiple items with no increase in shipping costs.
COLLECT AT THE CAFÉ
At check-out you will to have the option to collect your order from our cafés in either Oxford or Bath and avoid the shipping charge. We will notify you by email as soon as your order is ready to collect. Allow up to 3 days for Oxford collection orders and 7 days for Bath collection orders. Orders will be held for a maximum of 21 days before being returned to our warehouse.
- All delivery costs are present at the 'My Basket' screen once the shipping destination is chosen, before any money is taken.
- Please note next working day delivery does not include Sunday, Bank Holidays, Public Holidays and substitute days (see the GOV UK website for clarification).
- If you request that the package is left in a safe place, this will only be done at the discretion of the delivery driver.
- Can't be home for delivery? Don't worry - Thirsty Meeples can ship to any UK address so you can have your order delivered to your place of work, to a friend, a relative or neighbour. Simply enter your preferred delivery address when checking out.
When we are notified of a new item, we will list it for pre-order with an estimated arrival window. Pre-order means we are taking advanced orders for an item. It has not been received yet and we are unable to ship until a later date. The pre-order option is good way to lock in your order for an item that could potentially sell out by the time we are ready to ship. Pre-orders will be fulfilled in the order that they are placed.
We no longer require payment in advance for pre-order items.
Placing an Order for a Pre-Order Item
The process for placing a pre-order is the same as for ordering anything else through our webstore, except no payment details are taken at the final stage. Instead you will be asked to confirm your pre-order following which you will be emailed a Confirmation Order for your pre-order item.
IMPORTANT: Please do not add in stock and pre-order items on the same order; these need to be submitted on separate orders. Any in stock items ordered together with a pre-order will not be reserved. Additional items can be added to a pre-order once it is in stock and ready to ship.
ALSO: Please place separate orders for pre-order items unless they are part of a set and will be released and made available at the same time.
Paying for a Pre-Order Item
Payment for a pre-order item is not required until closer to inventory arrival. Once we are notified by a supplier that a pre-order item is about to ship we will e-mail you an invoice for payment. This invoice will direct you to the checkout page of our webstore where final payment can then be made. At this time any gift cards or loyalty vouchers can also be applied, other items from our store can also be added.
You will have 5 days to complete payment; if payment is not received within this time frame, your pre-order will be cancelled, and inventory opened to the public. Please pay attention to your inbox during the estimated arrival window for all your pre-order items.
Once payment is made you will receive an email confirmation from us of your order. Further emails will be sent once your order ships including tracking information.
Payment in Advance on Pre-Order Items
If you wish to, you can make payment for a pre-order item at any point after placing your order. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your order number and we will email you your invoice for payment.
Please note, we cannot accept payment for pre-order items using PayPal owing to their restrictions on the pre-selling of items not yet in stock.
Cancellation on Pre-Order Items
You can cancel any pre-order items that you have on order any time prior to shipment.
Please send all pre-order cancellation requests via email to: email@example.com and reference the order # in the subject heading.
Please note, any accounts with a history of excessive cancellations may result in penalties for future pre-order cancellations.
Estimated Arrival Window
All pre-order items will be designated with an estimated arrival window. This estimated arrival window may change based on updated feedback from our suppliers. We will update our listings once we have confirmed something has changed. We cannot guarantee pre-order items will arrive as per the estimated arrival window and we will not provide any compensation for any pre-order items that do not arrive in this said window.
Pricing on Pre-Order Items
In some rare cases, the price on a pre-order item may change after being listed.If the price is reduced prior to shipping, your price will be adjusted so that you receive the lowest price.
In rare circumstances, mandatory price increases may also happen to a pre-order item. This could occur when one of our suppliers solicits the item with a pricing error or when currency or tax rates are amended. In the event that the price increases, we will notify the affected customers. As always you are free to cancel your pre-order at any time.
We will try our best to fill every pre-order, but in rare cases a situation may be out of our control. If we cannot fulfill your pre-order, we will notify you immediately and process a refund. Keep in mind, no compensation will be provided for any inconveniences.
