ice-second-edition
I C E: Second Edition

In a frozen world swept by endless blizzards, a single city clings to survival. Each summer its guilds mount expeditions to the Valley of the Nuuka, where the vestiges of an antediluvian civilisation lie buried beneath the ice. In I C E (also known as ICE Unlimited) you lead one of those expeditions, chasing answers, prestige or riches on behalf of your guild.

What sets I C E apart is its extraordinary board: a multi-layer bowl stacked with hexagonal tiles, an ice sheet on top and layers of Artifacts beneath, with the City of Azulia printed on the base. You literally dig into it, removing tiles to reveal and collect Artifacts of different colours, shapes and Anima strength. Dig carelessly and the tiles above can cave in. The snow tiles you clear become one-shot helper actions, while the Artifacts you bring home slot into your asymmetric Guild board to unlock new abilities.

Play runs over four Days, each opened by a Logbook card that changes the conditions on the ice, with a limited budget of Exploration points to spend across eight possible actions. Fulfil your own private Requests and the City's public Decrees with the Artifacts you recover to earn Renown, and the most renowned guild after the fourth Day wins. This Second Edition is a streamlined retail version of the acclaimed 2023 release, with quicker setup, two new Study actions, rebalanced snow tiles and a solo mode, all illustrated by Léonard Dupond.
