Beautiful Book, Great Content!
Enclosed within what is likely the most impressive alternate cover art for a D&D book yet, Mythic Odysseys of Theros adds a lot of great content to any D&D game, even if you're not invested with the Magic the Gathering side of this product!
Mythic Odysseys adds a lot of themes from Greek Fantasy that were developed through the filter of a Magic the Gathering setting. The Greek fantasy element actually fits spectacularly well with D&D 5E play, so it's a ton of fun to use this product meaningfully. In regards to what is inside, there's additions to (really neat!) playable races, a few subclasses, some spells, and other oddities and interests. One of my favorite things in the book is the addition of a "Devotion" mechanic that gives a character boons from their God of choice as long as they're following that God's commandments and values. It adds some extra work to the game, but it's perfect for players looking to get more involved with Roleplaying through religious devotion.
There's a lot of content in this book that both players and DMs can use. Each god in the book comes with a personalized battlemap that represents a gathering spot or coven for worship to these gods. There's also a short adventure which, from reading through it quickly, seems good. However, regardless if you choose to gloss over these aspects or take advantage of them, there's a TON of amazing art!
